(4) What Makes A Good Title Sequence According To Kyle Cooper

Kyle Cooper is accredited for single-handledly revitalising the main title sequence as an art form. He believes a good title sequence is something that dubtails seemlessly into the film proper and sets an expectation for the movie as this is what initially engages the audience. One of Cooper's well known title sequences is for the movie Seven. The font that he used for 'Seven' is significant as it is handwritten. This helps the audience gain an understanding of the story that is being told and of the main character's personality. In addition, the font of the title sequence adds to the overall tone and impression that he is trying to set.

Kyle Cooper is fond of the title sequence 'Deadzone' because of the simple typography included and also because of the music in the title sequence which creates a mysterious atmosphere for the audience. In 'To Kill a Mockingbird' he is fond of the good contrast of horizontal and round shapes as well as the fact that he encapsulates the main character's obsession with her treasure box. The typography was beautifully integrated with the photography within the background.

He describes a "story based" main title sequence to be one of which is a specific backstory and one that is metaphorical, conveying what the film is about.
