(2) Prelim Evaluation

Planning stage
Before we started filming, we decided as a group to plan the: camera shots that we'll use, the story line and who would be assigned to different roles. Reflecting back to planning it helped to organise what we would be doing and filming; also it made our time to film more productive. Overall, this stage gave me a better understanding of the shots (i.e. over the shoulder) because we researched shots we didn't understand. This made it easier to applicate my understanding whilst filming the shots.

Filming stage
During filming, there were problems with the lighting, which made the scene we were shooting unclear and dark. We fixed the dilemma by using strong LED lights and closing the double doors to brighten the area. During the mise-en-scene it was hard to hear the voice of the team members. To make the sound clearer we waited till the other groups finished their scene before we started our own. In addition, to that we asked them to raise their voices. One thing I would add to improve this stage, I would re-film areas where the team members forgot to close the door and close them again. There was a slight error with continuity during the editing stage. Overall, I would say this was a successful process because there weren't much errors. Also, the planning stage helped to organise what we would be filming anyway.

Editing stage
This stage had a couple of problems. Firstly, there was a problem with one of the scenes because when we tried to match cut it, the scene wouldn't flow properly. We improved this by using a scene we had filmed and untrimmed to the area we cut. Secondly, there were problems with continuity. In the end we left those scenes in because they were really subtle. However, if we could re-film I would pay more attention to small details as those. Overall, I think we were successful because we managed to overcome the one of the problems and make our film decent.
