(5) Kyle Cooper: What makes a good title sequence

Kyle Cooper is accredited with what?
As the man who single handily re-vitalized the main title sequence as an art form.

What does he think makes a good title sequence?
He thinks that the way a title dubs tails seamlessly into the film makes it good.
A great title sequence is supposed to set an expectation. The main focus of the title is to grab   the audience's complete attention and concentration.
The movie is supposed to make the audience feel, for example excited.

What is important about the font used in the film Seven?
It is in a hand-written font which links the idea of the antagonist writing private journals/diaries.
It acts as a tool that integrates the tale to the film.

What reasons does he give for liking the following title sequences?
For Dead Zone:
He liked the simple typography plus the music was great.
It played overtime that made the sequence seem mysterious.

 For To Kill a Mockingbird:
He thought that the sequence was beautifully photographed.
The way the marbles distort.
How the background wraps focus on the macro objects
The form of the horizontal lines and round objects behind give a good contrast.
He also thought that the typography was integrated with the film.

What does he mean by "story based" main title sequence?
These sequences are specific but also clear metaphors/puns that has a specific reason with     with what the has to do about it
They start off with an idea that leads to the execution.

What problems might a studio face after an audience test screening?
They might not have enough of a budget to go through another shoot/scene.
They realise that the test audience doesn't understand a particular aspect of the scene.

Why do the 2.5 minutes of the title sequence become important for the studio?
They use the time to reinstate in order for it to become another scene or prologue in the movie   Or to help put in information in the movie that got left out.

Why do the title sequences to Dawn of the Dead try to do?
He tries to put the effect of the zombies to suggest wide-spread carnage globally in the              beginning to set up the idea so it becomes part of the movie.
He believes the ending is supposed to have the same effect.
