Prelim evaluation
Our first task was to make a prelim using the media equipment properly for the first time. My group was made up of myself, Cher, Nathan and Leo. As a group we all planned what shot types we wanted use, the story line and who the characters were going to be. On a storyboard we drew out a good idea of what our prelim would look like. Myself, Nathan and Leo were part of the acting and Cher was behind the cameras.
The story was that Nathan's character is a patient who needs the doctors as he has a flu, the filmign starts of with the nurse (me) who calls the patient (Nathan) to come in as the doctor (Leo) is calling him in. The doctor and patient talk and the doctor gives a prescription which is taken out of the briefcase which was our prop. We tried our best to follow the planning which was very useful as it helped us decide shot types and the story line.
Filming:
During filming, we had a few issues with the start such as the lighting was not as good, we filmed in the corridors and it was quite dark and difficult to see the character properly therefore we got a LED light which made everything better. Another issue was the sound, as there were other groups filming we were unable to hear our characters voice properly so we closed the double doors and waited for the other groups to finish the recording to make the corridor quiet.
Editing Stage:
In the editing stage we had a few problems that arised. First of all we had issues with the match cut some of the scenes we had filmed were not perfect, for example opening the door and filming from behind and inside did not match properly. Luckily, because we filmed a few of the scenes more than once we was able to use one of the previous films, trimmed it and then made it match with the previous scene. However, if we could re- make the film then I would make sure that I get every little detail clearly in such as continuity, being able to film clearly from behind and inside the classroom without making a major jump cut that is obvious. Working as a team, planning and being well organised has helped us make this prelim successful.
