(50) Rough Cut 2 - Feedback and Evaluation

Feedback:

Our feedback was that we need more Foley sounds and longer shots from most of our scenes. To solve this we can include more shots from our previous rough cut.

We also need to add our production ident, titles and we also need to decide what we want for our background music.
We need our last scene to be longer, since the audience said that it needs to be longer.

What we will do:

- add the production ident
- add more Foley sounds
- make more longer shots
- add more scenes
- add background music
- add the titles

(49) Rough Cut 1 Feedback and Evaluation

Feedback:

The feedback that we received from our Rough Cut 1 was quite positive, but we did have some issues that we needed to fix up on.

Positive:
- The train scene was shot really nice and well
- The end scene made the audience jump which meant that our editing was done well
-The train sound was very effective and the audience also liked it

Negative:
- There was some issues with the auto focus which meant that we had to reshoot some of the scenes again
- The audience had said that when the male character follows the female he was very distance from her rather than closer to her which meant we had to also reshoot that scene again to make him more closer to her
- We also got some negative feedback about the last scene ending too quick which meant the audience were not able to see the shot well, this means we have to make sure our last scene is a bit more longer so the audience are able to see it

(49) Rough Cut 1 Group Evaluation

Evaluation:

The main things that happened today are:
  • We've assessed our title sequence and put it into a linear sequence.
  • We realised areas that we need to reshoot to better our title sequence.
  • We've included more establishing shots.
  • We've also deleted a lot and cropped of our foley sounds and from shots.
  • We've  added  foley sound.
Strength:
The strength from our rough cut was that we were organised and had already started making the rough cut in workshops to get a rough idea of how we wanted the title sequence to look like. While editing we didn't have many issues as we knew what we had to do and what we needed to include in the sequence.

Weakness:
We had difficulties trying to work with the shots that we had taken as they were not suitable for the sequence and it didn't flow with the sequence. Because of this we now have to reshoot again the disappearing scene.
This is the disappearing scene that we have to reshoot.
Opportunity:
While editing we had the chance to see what we needed to improve on and we realised that we have to reshoot, this was a good opportunity because now we know what we need to reshoot and can get that done in the week after the holiday.

Threat:
There are no threats present at this current moment.

(48) Evidence of editing sessions

This is the evidence from our editing session, we recorded this from Camtasia and put it up on YouTube, we edited on Premier Pro mostly on our train scene by cutting scene shorter.

(48) Evidence from editing sessions

Today we were supposed to film, however we filmed everything on Monday. Whilst editing we realised that we needed to reshoot some scenes. The main reason, is the camerea settings we used whilst filming would focus and come out of focus. We plan to re-shoot on Wednesday and we will include more establishing shots. Also, to prevent the problem from happening again we will keep the setting on AF-F rather than AF-S. There weren't any problems editing today we created a basic sequence without adding credits or sounds. We also added bluring effects onto some of our shots to compliment the inconsisitent focus. To create a distorted effect, which integrates well with our genre (psychological thriller).

(48) Editing Day Evaluation

The Highlights of today:
We've already established a sequence from start to end. So, the main thing we did today was assess what we needed to edit and re-shoot. We came to a conclusion that we were going to re-shoot our whole sequence again and add more of a variety of shots i.e. Point of views shots and close-ups. Besides that, we have added Foley sounds  of heavy breathing to our sequence. The last thing we did was post a group blog of evidence of editing to our blog site.
